How do I worm my dog?

(17 Aug 2009)

Question

My dog had a litter of 7 healthy pups on 5th August, she was wormed with drontal 2 weeks before delivery, I am wondering when I need to worm these puppies and with what preparation?

Response

Thank you for your email regarding your new puppies. Congratulations!! New puppies can be wormed from 2 weeks of age with a product called Parazole liquid. They can be wormed at 2 weeks, 5 weeks, and then at 8 weeks and 12 weeks at the dose of 1ml per 2kgs bodyweight. Parazole is available from your vet.
