Frequently Asked Questions
Does cryotherapy hurt my pet?
Most pets tolerate cryotherapy very well. The area feels cold for a few seconds and may cause mild discomfort, but it is far less invasive than surgery. Usually no anaesthetic is needed.
How long is the recovery?
Lumps usually dry and fall off within a few days to a week. Pets return to normal activity straight away.
Is it safe for older pets?
Yes - cryotherapy is ideal for senior pets or those with health conditions where surgery or anaesthetic would be risky.
What types of lumps can be treated?
Skin tags, warts, cysts, eyelid growths, perianal growths, and some superficial tumours. Your vet will advise if your pet’s lump is suitable.
Will the lump come back?
Usually not. However, some pets develop new lumps over time, which can be treated if needed.
How long does the procedure take?
Most cryotherapy sessions take just a few minutes and can be performed during a standard consultation.
