I am the Receptionist here in Cara Vet Group.

I began volunteering helping animals at 17 as I knew it was what I wanted to do with my life.

July 2018

I am the weekend Receptionist in Ballycoolin. I man the Reception Desk, answer phones, book appointments and assist the Vets and Nurses.

Any qualifications?

I have studied Animal Care and am currently in my second year of Veterinary Nursing.

What do you love about your job?

Knowing that a difference is made to animals' lives.

Who is one of your most memorable patients and why?

Bailey, a golden retriever who is always happy to come for a rub and some treats. Bailey always carries his colourful ball with him.

Your pets' names and breeds?

  • Bella: Labrador
  • Pebbles: Dolly Mixture (Pointer x Beagle - possibly)

How did you meet your pets?

  • Bella was from an IKC Labrador Breeder
  • Pebbles came from a puppy farm that had been shut down. She was then in three rescues before I got her. She had mange and was extremely emaciated, but over time she gained weight and became healthier.

Why did you pick them or why did they pick you?

  • On going to get Bella, her mother and father greeted us at the drive by licking the windows of the car and were so friendly. She was following behind, happy to meet us.
  • Pebbles was the most ill of the pups in her litter so I just felt I needed to take her. She also came over to me straight away from her bed while all the others stayed in bed.

When did your pet come to live with you?

  • Bella came in 2010
  • Pebbles was in 2014

What does your pet enjoy doing and where?

Both girls love runs in the woords, they love all the smells and if there a lake near by they love a splash.

Any funny quirks / lazy / energetic things they do?

  • Pebbles loves the fire - once it's lit, we can't keep her away from it!
  • Bella loves to chase a ball. If there is a hurling match on nearby, she goes crazy to try get the ball!
